Emily Flynn

I am a Spokane based artist working in painting and sculpture. I have an Associate of Fine Arts from the Community Colleges of Spokane and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Montana. The figure is prominent in my work not only because it is beautifully versatile in regards to subject matter, but endless in its capacity to entrance me. Nothing intrigues me more than a captivating expression or striking features. I strive to capture vitality and energy in my figures, attempting to create a feeling or personality rather than a simple likeness. I am drawn to vibrant color and drastic contrast, creating a sense of heightened emotion. I’ve shown in various venues from Seattle to Missoula, and work in a wide variety of medium.
